IIT Madras Humanities and Social Sciences Entrance Examination (HSEE)
Introduction:
ഐഐടി മദ്രാസ് എല്ലാ വർഷവും നടത്തുന്ന ദേശീയ തലത്തിലുള്ള പ്രവേശന പരീക്ഷയാണ് ഹ്യുമാനിറ്റീസ് ആൻഡ് സോഷ്യൽ സയൻസസ് എൻട്രൻസ് എക്സാമിനേഷൻ അഥവാ എച്ച്എസ്ഇഇ. ഇത് അഞ്ച് വർഷത്തെ സംയോജിത മാസ്റ്റർ ഓഫ് ആർട്സ് (എംഎ) പ്രോഗ്രാമിൽ പ്രവേശനം നേടാൻ അപേക്ഷകരെ അനുവദിക്കുന്നു.

Eligibility
Candidates meet the HSEE 2022 eligibility criteria if they have cleared any of the below-mentioned examinations with qualifying marks in 2018 or are appearing for them in 2022:
- The final examination of the Plus two system, conducted by a Central or State Board recognised by the Association of Indian Universities
- Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a Board or University recognised by the Association of Indian Universities.
- Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy
- Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects
- Any Public School, Board or University examination in India or in a foreign country recognised as equivalent to the Plus two system by the Association of Indian Universities
- HSC vocational examination
- General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London, Cambridge or Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
- High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva
Age Limit:
- General category candidates are eligible to apply for HSEE 2022 if they are born on or after October 1, 1996. SC/ST/PwD candidates are given age relaxation of 5 years.

Marking Scheme
- For every correct answer, aspirants are awarded one mark. There is no negative marking in IIT HSEE

How to Apply
Step 1
- Registration: To fill the HSEE 2022 application form, candidates will have to log on to the official website of the exam and select from the menu “Apply Online” and follow the instructions on the site. The applicant has to enter all the data as per the instructions. The site will prompt to save the data on the system when necessary. Once the candidate has entered the details such as name, email-ID and phone number, the applicant will receive a confirmation mail, which consists of the HSEE 2022 registration number and password.
Step 2
- Fill HSEE Application Form: Once the candidate has successfully registered themselves, the aspirant can fill the HSEE application form. The application fee needs to be paid through Credit Card/Debit Card/Netbanking/ Indian Bank challan.
Step 3
- Get HSEE Admit card: Once the candidate has successfully filled and submitted the HSEE application form, the candidate will have to download their respective HSEE admit card, which will be available online on the official website of HSEE which will be released two weeks before the exam. Candidates are advised that the university will not send the HSEE admit card via post or courier and can only avail the admit card from the exam website.
Step 4
- Appear for IIT HSEE 2022: The Humanities and Social Sciences Entrance Exam (HSEE) is of three hours duration and consists of two parts. HSEE Part I consists of objective type questions and Part II of IIT HSEE comprises of an essay question. Candidates are advised to go through the exam pattern, marking scheme and syllabus of HSEE.
Step 5
- Check HSEE Result: The HSEE 2022 results will be released on the official website of the exam page. A common rank list is released with names of candidates who have secured at least 50% marks in the exam. Apart from this, separate HSEE merit lists are released for each category.
Step 6
- Counselling: After the HSEE 2021 results have been declared, the counselling and admission process will commence. The college will release a merit list after the results have been declared, where candidates who meet the qualifying cutoff marks, will be called for counselling in Integrated MA programmes offered by IIT Madras
