Overview
വിവിധ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിൽ അധ്യാപനത്തിനും ഗവേഷണത്തിനുമായി സർവ്വകലാശാലകൾ സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നതിനും സംയോജിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനും വിഭാവനം ചെയ്യുന്ന സെൻട്രൽ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ആക്ട്, 2009-ന് ഇന്ത്യൻ രാഷ്ട്രപതി അംഗീകാരം നൽകി. ഈ നിയമത്തിന് കീഴിൽ 2009 മാർച്ച് 1-ന് ജാർഖണ്ഡ് സെൻട്രൽ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി നിലവിൽ വന്നു. ജാർഖണ്ഡ് സെൻട്രൽ യൂണിവേഴ്‌സിറ്റിയുടെ സന്ദർശകയായ ശ്രീമതി പ്രതിഭാ ദേവിസിംഗ് പാട്ടീൽ, അന്താരാഷ്‌ട്ര പ്രശസ്‌ത ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞനും വിശിഷ്ടനുമായ ഡോ. ഡാർലാൻഡോ ടി. ഖാത്തിംഗിനെ നിയമിച്ചു.ഒരു ശക്തമായ സ്വഭാവം കെട്ടിപ്പടുക്കുന്നതിലൂടെയും മൂല്യാധിഷ്ഠിത സുതാര്യമായ തൊഴിൽ നൈതികത പരിപോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെയും, ജനങ്ങളുടെ സമഗ്രവികസനത്തിനും സ്വയം നിലനിൽപ്പിനും വേണ്ടിയുള്ള സർഗ്ഗാത്മകവും വിമർശനാത്മകവുമായ ചിന്തകൾ പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെയും, ബഹുവിധ അഭ്യാസ പഠനത്തിലൂടെയും, വിജ്ഞാന സമൂഹത്തിന്റെ സൃഷ്ടിപ്പിന് വേണ്ടിയും, മാറ്റത്തിന്റെ വഴികാട്ടിയായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുക, ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ശുദ്ധവും പ്രായോഗികവുമായ പഠന മേഖലകളിൽ അധ്യാപനത്തിലും ഗവേഷണത്തിലും നവീകരണത്തിലും മികവിന്റെ അന്തരീക്ഷം വളർത്തിയെടുക്കുക എന്നിവയാണ് സെൻട്രൽ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ഓഫ് ജാർഖണ്ഡ് ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്നത്.

- The Department of Computer Science and Technology has been started in 2018 under the school of Natural Sciences. Initially, only PG Diploma in Cyber Security with the intake of 28 students; and Ph. D. program has been offered. The department is also planning to offers M. Tech. program from upcoming session. It is the department’s ambition to be internationally recognized as a leader in computer science and technology, a department with coherent activities within research, education, development, and industry cooperation.

Department of Nanoscience and Technology
- The center for Nanotechnology was started in July 2010 under the School of Engineering, which offers five years of integrated programs in Nanotechnology. The center is committed to providing state-of-the-art teaching and research facility to its students. Remembering the inherently interdisciplinary nature of nanotechnology, the five years integrated course is designed to develop an advanced and broad spectrum of knowledge from all streams of science and engineering required for a complete understanding of nanotechnology.
Department of Energy Engineering
- The center for Energy Engineering came into existence in July 2011 under the school of Engineering and Technologies. The center is committed to the mission and goals of the University for not only teaching and research but also the overall development of the region and the country by emphasizing the need for renewable energy technologies and their applications on a common basis. The center is currently offering five years of integrated M. Tech. program in Energy Engineering. The first batch of integrated M. Tech. is present in the 3rd semester, with a strength of 36 students covering from different parts of the country. The center is in a process of developing a new high-quality research facility on Energy Engineering and serving mankind. In this center, we are creating a friendly environment that promotes innovative growth of ideas, intensive interactions, and co-operations at all levels.

M.S.W.
- The M.S.W. (Master of Social Work) program with a specialization in Tribal Welfare & Justice, running under the aegis of the Department of Contemporary and Tribal Customary Law, is a full-time program of study spanning four (4) academic semesters, each of six (6) months duration.
Eligibility
- A candidate seeking admission to the M.S.W. (Master of Social Work) program must possess Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized Indian or Foreign University, with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade/CGPA.
- The same for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (non-creamy layer), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and Divyang (differently-abled) candidates is 45% or equivalent grade/CGPA.

LL.M
- The LL.M. program running under the aegis of the Department of Contemporary and Tribal Customary Law is a full time programme of study spanning across four (4) academic semesters, each of six (6) months duration.

- A candidate seeking admission in the LL.M. program must possess an LL.B. degree from a recognized Indian or foreign University (recognized by the Bar Council of India), with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade/CGPA.
- The same for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (non-creamy layer), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Divyang (differently-abled) candidates is 45% or equivalent grade/CGPA.

Department of Politics and International Relations
- The establishment of the Centre for International Relations provides a new institutional focus at Central University of Jharkhand for teaching and research on politics in all its dimensions; international and comparative, theoretical and empirical, abstract and practical. The Centre offers a five year integrated course on International Relations which is the first in India of its kind. The subject discusses the long and distinctive tradition in the study of politics and international relations, with particular emphasis on historical, legal, economic, empirical and philosophical approaches to the study of national and international politics.
