ഇന്ത്യൻ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് മാനേജ്‌മെന്റ് കൽക്കട്ട (ഐഐഎംസി) 1961 നവംബറിൽ ആൽഫ്രഡ് പി സ്ലോൺ സ്കൂൾ ഓഫ് മാനേജ്‌മെന്റുമായി (എംഐടി) സഹകരിച്ച്, മാനേജ്‌മെന്റിലെ ബിരുദാനന്തര പഠനത്തിനും ഗവേഷണത്തിനും വേണ്ടിയുള്ള ആദ്യത്തെ ദേശീയ സ്ഥാപനമായി സ്ഥാപിച്ചു. പശ്ചിമ ബംഗാൾ, ദി ഫോർഡ് ഫൗണ്ടേഷൻ, ഇന്ത്യൻ വ്യവസായം. അതിന്റെ പ്രാരംഭ വർഷങ്ങളിൽ, ജഗദീഷ് ഷേത്ത്, ജെ.കെ. സെൻഗുപ്ത എന്നിവരുൾപ്പെടെ നിരവധി പ്രമുഖ ഫാക്കൽറ്റികൾ അതിന്റെ ന്യൂക്ലിയസിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി.വർഷങ്ങളായി, ഉയർന്ന നിലവാരമുള്ള മാനേജ്‌മെന്റ് വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം നൽകുന്ന, ആഗോള പ്രശസ്തിയുള്ള ഒരു പക്വതയുള്ള സ്ഥാപനമായി ഐഐഎംസി വളർന്നു. പോസ്റ്റ് ഗ്രാജ്വേറ്റ്, ഡോക്ടറൽ ലെവൽ പ്രോഗ്രാമുകൾ, എക്‌സിക്യൂട്ടീവ് ട്രെയിനിംഗ് പ്രോഗ്രാമുകൾ, ഗവേഷണം, കൺസൾട്ടിംഗ് പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയിലൂടെ ഇന്ത്യൻ മാനേജ്‌മെന്റിനെ പ്രൊഫഷണലൈസ് ചെയ്യുന്നതിൽ ഇത് ഒരു മുൻനിര പങ്ക് വഹിക്കുന്നു
Programmes Offered
1.Ph.D
- The Programme aims to prepare students for careers in teaching and research in management studies and in related disciplines, and for careers in the government, in industry, and in other organizations that require advanced analytical and research capabilities.
Specializations:
- Economics, Finance & Control, Human Resource Management, Management Information Systems, Marketing, Operations Management, Organizational Behaviour, Public Policy and Management, and Strategic Management.

2.Master of Business Administration
Eligibility
- A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA for admission to MBA course of IIM Calcutta.
- In case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PWD) categories, candidates should have atleast 45% marks in graduation.
- Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply.
3.PGPEX-VLM
Eligibility:
- First-class graduate Engineers with first division/ first class marks from the secondary examination

4.Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA)
Eligibility
- Graduation: The candidate should have completed a bachelor's degree of at least 4 years in any specialization.
For B.E./ B.Tech candidates, candidates belonging to the open category should have scored a minimum of 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale. SC/ ST/ PwD candidates need to score a minimum of 55% or equivalent grade point average. - For open category candidates who have pursued MBBS/ Integrated Masters/ BDS and Bachelor of Architecture, a minimum of 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale is required. SC/ST/PwD candidates need to score a minimum of 55% or equivalent grade point average.
For open category candidates who have completed their post-graduation (MBA/ MMS/ M. Com/ M.Sc) after pursuing a 3-year graduation course need to score a minimum of 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale in their post-graduation course. SC/ST/PwD candidates need to score a minimum of 55% or equivalent grade point average. - Candidates in their final year can also apply for the examination
5.Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA)
Eligibility
- Bachelor's degree in 10+2+3 pattern or equivalent degree in any stream with at least five years of work experience
