Overview
1962-ൽ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ഗ്രാന്റ്‌സ് കമ്മീഷൻ യൂണിവേഴ്‌സിറ്റിയെ 'ഡീംഡ് റ്റു യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി' ആയി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു.താമസിയാതെ, 1967-ൽ സ്കൂൾ ഓഫ് സോഷ്യൽ വർക്ക് സ്ഥാപിതമായി. 1969-ൽ അന്തരിച്ച ഡോ. സക്കീർ ഹുസൈനെ ആദരിക്കുന്നതിനായി 1971-ൽ ജാമിയ സാക്കിർ ഹുസൈൻ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് ഇസ്ലാമിക് സ്റ്റഡീസ് ആരംഭിച്ചു. രവീന്ദ്രനാഥ ടാഗോർ ഇതിനെ "ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഏറ്റവും പുരോഗമനപരമായ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളിലൊന്ന്" എന്ന് വിശേഷിപ്പിച്ചു.1981-ൽ, ഹ്യുമാനിറ്റീസ് ആൻഡ് ലാംഗ്വേജസ്, നാച്ചുറൽ സയൻസ്, സോഷ്യൽ സയൻസ്, സ്റ്റേറ്റ് റിസോഴ്സ് സെന്റർ എന്നിവയുടെ ഫാക്കൽറ്റികൾ സ്ഥാപിതമായി. 1983-ൽ അത് മാസ് കമ്മ്യൂണിക്കേഷൻ റിസർച്ച് സെന്ററും കോച്ചിംഗ് ആന്റ് കരിയർ പ്ലാനിംഗ് സെന്ററും ആരംഭിച്ചു. 1985-ൽ ഫാക്കൽറ്റി ഓഫ് എഞ്ചിനീയറിംഗ് & ടെക്നോളജിയും യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി കമ്പ്യൂട്ടർ സെന്ററും സ്ഥാപിച്ചു. പാർലമെന്റിന്റെ ഒരു പ്രത്യേക നിയമപ്രകാരം, 1988 ഡിസംബറിൽ ജാമിയ മില്ലിയ ഇസ്ലാമിയയെ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ഒരു കേന്ദ്ര സർവ്വകലാശാലയാക്കി മാറ്റി. ഫാക്കൽറ്റികളുടെ പട്ടികയിൽ, അതായത് വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം, ഹ്യുമാനിറ്റീസ് & ഭാഷകൾ, പ്രകൃതി ശാസ്ത്രം, സാമൂഹിക ശാസ്ത്രം. എഞ്ചിനീയറിംഗ് & ടെക്നോളജി, ഒരു ഫാക്കൽറ്റി - ഫാക്കൽറ്റി ഓഫ് ലോ, 1989-ൽ ചേർത്തു. യുജി, പിജി തലങ്ങളിൽ നിരവധി പുതിയ കോഴ്സുകളും പ്രോഗ്രാമുകളും പിന്നീട് ചേർത്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.
