Course Introduction:
B.Sc. Plant Pathology എന്നത് ഒരു ബിരുദ അഗ്രിക്കൾച്ചറൽ സയൻസ് & ടെക്നോളജി കോഴ്‌സാണ്. സസ്യങ്ങളുടെ രോഗങ്ങൾക്ക് കാരണമാകുന്ന ഫംഗസ്, ബാക്ടീരിയ, വൈറസ്, നെമറ്റോഡുകൾ, മറ്റ് സൂക്ഷ്മാണുക്കൾ എന്നിവയുടെ പഠനവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട കാർഷിക ശാസ്ത്രത്തിൻ്റെ ഒരു ശാഖയാണ് പ്ലാൻ്റ് പാത്തോളജി. വിവിധ തരം ഹോസ്റ്റുകൾ, രോഗകാരികൾ, പരിസ്ഥിതി തുടങ്ങിയവ എങ്ങനെ സസൃരോഗങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് കാരണമാക്കുന്നു എന്ന് മനസിലാക്കുന്നതിലും സസ്യരോഗങ്ങളെ എങ്ങനെ നിയന്ത്രിക്കാമെന്നതിലും ഈ ബ്രാഞ്ച് ശ്രദ്ധ കേന്ദ്രീകരിക്കുന്നു. രോഗകാരികളെ തിരിച്ചറിയൽ, ഡിസീസ് എറ്റിയോളജി, രോഗചക്രങ്ങൾ, സാമ്പത്തിക ആഘാതം, സസ്യങ്ങളിലെ പകർച്ചവ്യാധി, സസ്യരോഗ പ്രതിരോധം, സസ്യരോഗങ്ങൾ മനുഷ്യരെയും മൃഗങ്ങളെയും എങ്ങനെ ബാധിക്കുന്നു, പാത്തോസ്-സിസ്റ്റം ജനിതകശാസ്ത്രം, സസ്യരോഗങ്ങളുടെ പരിപാലനം എന്നിവയും പഠനത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു.
