NID ഹരിയാന NID കുരുക്ഷേത്ര എന്നും അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു, 2016-ൽ ഡിപ്പാർട്ട്‌മെന്റ് ഓഫ് ഇൻഡസ്ട്രിയൽ പോളിസി ആന്റ് പ്രൊമോഷൻ (ഡിഐപിപി), ഇന്ത്യാ ഗവൺമെന്റിന്റെ വാണിജ്യ വ്യവസായ മന്ത്രാലയവും ഇൻഫർമേഷൻ ടെക്‌നോളജി മന്ത്രാലയവും ചേർന്ന് സ്ഥാപിച്ചതാണ്.ഹരിയാനയിലെ നാഷണൽ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് ഡിസൈൻ, 2016 നവംബർ 15-നാണു സ്ഥാപിതമായത് .വൈവിധ്യമാർന്ന ഡിസൈൻ ഡൊമെയ്‌നുകൾ അടങ്ങുന്ന NID ഹരിയാനയുടെ മൾട്ടി ഡിസിപ്ലിനറി കാഴ്ചപ്പാടുകൾ ഡിസൈൻ പഠനത്തിനും ഡിജിറ്റൽ, അത്യാധുനിക സാങ്കേതിക വിദ്യകളുമായി സംയോജിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ആളുകളുടെ ഉയർന്നുവരുന്ന ആവശ്യങ്ങളിൽ ശ്രദ്ധ കേന്ദ്രീകരിച്ച് പരിഹാരങ്ങൾ നൽകുന്നതിനും മാത്രമല്ല നൂതനവും സമഗ്രവുമായചിന്തകൾ സൃഷ്ടിക്കാൻ സഹായിക്കുന്നു.വ്യവസായം, വാണിജ്യം, വികസനം എന്നീ മേഖലകളിലെ നൂതനമായ ഡിസൈൻ സൃഷ്ട്ടിക്കുന്ന മാതൃകയാവുക എന്നതാണ് ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ലക്ഷ്യമിടുന്നത്.
