Course Introduction:
എം.എസ്സി. ജനിറ്റിക്സ് അല്ലെങ്കിൽ മാസ്റ്റർ ഓഫ് സയൻസ് ഇൻ ജനിറ്റിക്സ് ഒരു ബിരുദാനന്തര ജനിതക കോഴ്സാണ്. ജനിതകശാസ്ത്ര ബയോളജി, ജീനുകളുടെ ശാസ്ത്രം, പാരമ്പര്യം, ജീവജാലങ്ങളിലെ വ്യതിയാനം എന്നിവ ഉൾക്കൊള്ളുന്നു. ജനിതകശാസ്ത്രം ജീനുകളുടെ തന്മാത്രാ ഘടനയും പ്രവർത്തനവും കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യുന്നു, ഒരു കോശത്തിന്റെയോ ജീവിയുടെയോ (ഉദാ. ആധിപത്യവും എപ്പിജനെറ്റിക്സും) പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിൽ ജീൻ പെരുമാറ്റം, മാതാപിതാക്കളിൽ നിന്ന് സന്തതികളിലേക്കുള്ള അനന്തരാവകാശ പാറ്റേണുകൾ, ജീൻ വിതരണം, വ്യതിയാനം, ജനസംഖ്യയിലെ മാറ്റം എന്നിവ ഈ കോഴ്‌സിലൂടെ കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യുന്നു. എം.എസ്സി. ജനിതകത്തിൽ കൂടുതലും രണ്ട് അക്കാദമിക് വർഷങ്ങളാണെങ്കിലും ഇത് ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് മുതൽ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് വരെ വ്യത്യാസപ്പെടുന്നു. ദില്ലി സർവകലാശാല ഒരു മുഴുവൻ സമയ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ രണ്ട് വർഷത്തേക്ക് നൽകുന്നു. കോഴ്‌സ് പൂർത്തിയാക്കാനുള്ള ഏറ്റവും കുറഞ്ഞ സമയം രണ്ട് വർഷമാണ്. കോഴ്‌സിനുള്ള സിലബസ് നാല് സെമസ്റ്ററുകളായി തിരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

- Aspiring candidates should have completed B.Sc. under any registered university in respective subjects like Zoology, Botany, Biochemistry, Genetics, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology or Life Sciences and Biomedical Sciences in Science stream
