സർക്കാർ സ്ഥാപിച്ച IISER-കളുടെ ശൃംഖലയിലെ ആറാമത്തെ സ്ഥാപനമാണ് IISER തിരുപ്പതി. അടിസ്ഥാന ശാസ്ത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഗുണമേന്മയുള്ള വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം നൽകുന്നതിനും ശാസ്ത്രത്തിലെ മുൻനിര, അത്യാധുനിക ഗവേഷണങ്ങൾക്കായി അത്യാധുനിക ഗവേഷണ സൗകര്യങ്ങൾ സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നതിനുമായി വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ മന്ത്രാലയത്തിന് കീഴിലുള്ള തിരുപ്പതിയിലെ ഈ സ്ഥാപനം 2015 ഓഗസ്റ്റിൽ ഇത് അക്കാദമിക് പ്രവർത്തനം ആരംഭിച്ചു.സംയോജിത ബിരുദ-ബിരുദാനന്തര കോഴ്‌സുകൾ നൽകിക്കൊണ്ട് അടിസ്ഥാന ശാസ്ത്രത്തിന്റെ വിവിധ മേഖലകളിൽ രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ ആവശ്യങ്ങൾ നിറവേറ്റാൻ കഴിവുള്ള പ്രതിഭകളെ സൃഷ്ടിക്കുക എന്ന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥാപനമാണിത് .

Programmes offered

 1.BS-MS Degree Programme

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Tirupati Offers BS-MS Programmes in the following subjects

  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Humanities and Social Science

Eligibility

  • It is the flagship program of the IISERs. The BS-MS programme is for a duration of five years, intended for bright and motivated science students who have passed (10+2) level.

2.Integrated Ph.D. (i-Ph.D.) programme

Eligibility

  • Students with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage with all subjects) or CGPA 6 out of 10-point scale in B.Sc./B.Tech/B.E. or any equivalent degree, and having qualified a national exam such as JGEEBILS/JAM/NBHM scholarship etc. are encouraged to apply for the programme.

3.Ph.D


The broad areas of research in each department include the following:

Biology:

  • Biophysics, Neuroscience, Plant biology, Ecology and evolution, Cancer biology & Immunology, Chemical Biology, Nano-Biotechnology, Proteomics and Infectious disease.

Chemistry:

  • Bio-Organic Chemistry, Nano-technology, Organic & Bio Molecular Chemistry, Inorganic & Materials Chemistry, Theoretical/Computational, Analytical & Physical Chemistry, Energy Storage Materials

Earth and Climate Science:

  • Petrology, Minerology, Thermodynamic modelling of fluid-rock interactions, REE mineralization and mobility in alkaline/peralkaline system

Mathematics:

  • Algebraic Geometry, Differential Geometry, Harmonic Analysis, Number Theory, Representation Theory and Topology.

Physics:

  • Theoretical Astrophysics, Observational Astronomy, Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics, Soft Matter Physics, Nonlinear Physics, Experimental High Energy Physics and String Theory and Gravity

Entrance Examination

  • In addition to the qualifying degree, we expect the students to have qualified a national examination such as CSIR-UGC NET/GATE/JEST/JGEEBILS, etc. depending on their area of research interest.

Eligibility

  • Students with a Master's degree in Science / Mathematics or a four-year Bachelor degree with at least 55% marks (aggregate) are encouraged to apply to our PhD programme. In addition to the qualifying degree, we expect the students to have qualified a national examination such as CSIR-UGC NET/GATE/JEST/JGEEBILS, etc. depending on their area of research interest.
