അലഹബാദ് സർവ്വകലാശാല ഒരു നൂറ്റാണ്ടിലേറെയായി ഇന്ത്യയിലെ സർവ്വകലാശാലകളിൽ എല്ലായ്പ്പോഴും ഒരു ബഹുമാന്യമായ സ്ഥാനം നേടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.1887 സെപ്തംബർ 23-ന് സ്ഥാപിതമായ  കൽക്കട്ട,ബോംബെ, മദ്രാസ് സർവ്വകലാശാലകൾക്ക് ശേഷം ഇന്ത്യയിലെ നാലാമത്തെ ഏറ്റവും പഴക്കമുള്ള സർവ്വകലാശാലയാണ് അലഹബാദ് സർവ്വകലാശാല.

MONIRBA

• The Department was set up in 1924 with the introduction of UG/PG teaching in Commerce. The Management wing was added in 1965 with the setting up of the Moti Lal Nehru Institute of Research and Business Administration and the launching of PG programme leading to the award of Master’s degree in Business Administration. In fact, the Department was the first among the Indian University departments to take a lead in starting formal education in Management. The Department also had a Master’s Programme in Business Statistics and a Diploma Programme in Business Administration which had to be abandoned later on for operational reasons.
