UG Programs

SASTRI (Eq. to B.A) 

  • An undergraduate program in different sastras provides the student's opportunity to acquire a moderate understanding of selected sastra and selected conventional & Vocational courses.
  • No. of seats: 211
  • Duration: 6/8 Semesters
  • Age: Minimum 17 years (as of 01-06-2021)

 B.A.

  • An undergraduate program in Sahitya provides the student's opportunity to acquire a moderate understanding of selected portions from Sahitya and selected conventional & Vocational courses.
  • No. of seats:  22 (Choice Based Credit System)  
  • Duration: 6/8 Semesters 

B.Sc. in Yoga

  • An undergraduate program in Yoga sastra provides the student's opportunity to acquire a moderate understanding of Yoga sastra, selected conventional & Vocational courses.
  • No. of seats: 44 
  • Duration: 6/8 Semesters 
  • Eligibility: +2/Prak-Sastri / Intermediate or an examination as equivalent recognized by the Vidyapeetha are eligible to apply

B.Sc. Computers

  • An undergraduate program that provides the student's opportunity to acquire an understanding of selected sastras, Computer Science and Mathematics 
  • No. of seats: 22  
  • Duration: 6/8 Semesters; 
  • Eligibility: Prak-Sastri / Intermediate or any other equivalent exam with Sanskrit and Mathematics as the subjects of study.

PG Programs

ACHARYA (eq. M.A. in Sanskrit) 

  • A two-year Post Graduate program, it enables the students to specialize in the chosen sastra besides getting introductory knowledge in four chosen Softcore courses. 
  • Duration: Two years (4 semesters). 
  • Age: Minimum 20 years as on 01-06-2021
  • Eligibility : (a) Pass in 3-year degree course /Sastri in respective subjects. However those who have Sanskrit as a Second language or one of the subjects in a group at the Graduate Level are also eligible for admission into Acharya in Sahitya, Puranetihasa, and Dharmasastra. 

M.A in Hindi

  • The main objective of M.A in Hindi is to propagate National Language Hindi in National Institutions in General and the Southern region in particular.
  • Duration: 4 Semesters;
  • No. of Seats: 22

M.Sc. in Computer Science & Sanskrit Language Technology

  • Duration: 4 Semesters    
  • No. of Seats: 17
  • Eligibility: Any graduate with Computer Science/Computer Applications and Sanskrit at +2 level or degree level.

M.A. in Sanskrit – Sabdabodha Systems & Language Technology

  • This is an interdisciplinary and newly emerging area of study introduced under the innovative program approved by UGC. 
  • Duration: 4 semesters
  • No. of Seats: 11

M.Sc. in Yoga Therapy

  • The main objectives of the program are to generate awareness among the common people, rural, in particular, about the alternative Yoga Therapy in Health and to serve them. 
  • Duration: 4 Semesters 
  • No. of Seats: 28

Masters in Ancient Indian Management Techniques (MAIMT)

  • Graduates from any discipline having secured a minimum of 50% marks are eligible to join this program.
  • No. of Seats: 22
  • Age: Minimum 20 years


Professional Programs

SHIKSHA ACHARYA (eq. To M.Ed.)

  • The Shiksha Acharya (M.Ed.) The program is a two-year professional program in the field of Teacher Education which aims at preparing teacher educators and other education professionals including curriculum developers, educational policy analysts, planners, administrators, supervisors, school principals, and researchers.
  • Duration: 4 semesters 
  • Medium of instruction: Sanskrit
  • No. of Seats: One-Unit (55 Seats)

Shiksha Shastri (B.Ed)

  • Shiksha Shastri (B.Ed) program of National Sanskrit University is recognized by NCTE (F.No.SRO/NCTE/APS09601/B.Ed/AP-/2015/65123)Dated 19.05.2015. NCTE has sanctioned Two Units (Each Unit – 50 Intake). From the academic year 2015-16 the duration of the program is for two years.
