Department of Management Studies
The MBA program is one of the flagship programs of the University. It has become a much sought-after course for the best and brightest brains as it offers lucrative and challenging career opportunities. The program is characterized by a unique blend of rigorous core management courses and specialized functional training in finance and accounting, marketing, HR, and operations. The MBA Programme at present offers dual specialization. Admission to the program is based on the score of the students obtained in the CMAT (Common Management Admission Test) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), merit in the qualifying examination, and performance in Group Discussion and Personal Interviews.
Department of Tourism studies
The Department of Tourism Studies was established in 2012 with the purpose to promote world-class research and teaching in Tourism and Hospitality. The Department encourages continuous interface with the industry through internship projects, Guest lectures, and curriculum development. The Department aims at developing the budding managers for the tourism industry inculcating a sense of initiative and accountability in them for their overall personality development with ethical and intellectual vigor. The main objective of the curriculum formulated by the Department is to produce leaders for industry, who can use their management skills for the development of the industry.

4. School of Physical and Chemical Sciences
Department of Chemistry
Chemistry provides a link between the fundamental principles governing the nature of the universe and the science of life and spans traditional as well as a variety of inter-disciplinary areas. Chemistry is often referred to as the central science, as it plays a vital role in nearly every other scientific field.
At the graduate level, the Central University of Kashmir offers a 2-year M.Sc. program in Chemistry (with specialization in Inorganic, Organic and Physical Chemistry) with a semester system following the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) at Nunar Campus, Ganderbal. Earlier this Department was functioning as a Section in the School of Life Sciences. This Department currently constitutes 6 faculty members including 1 Guest faculty. The prime responsibility of the department is to organize the teaching of chemistry courses for M.Sc. and various integrated programs.
Department of Physics
Physics is one of the most important and the core discipline of Natural Sciences, which finds application in almost every discipline of other Natural sciences. Technology with its varied Disciplines has revolutionized the lives of humankind, as out shouts of physical sciences in its different dimensions.
The knowledge of Physics and its applications is, therefore, very important as for as developing societies are concerned. Keeping in view the development of societies in general and scientific society in particular, the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) has started 5-year Integrated B. Sc. - M. Sc Programme in Physics with a semester system following the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). The Department of Physics started its first batch of Integrated B. Sc.- M. Sc program in 2015 at Transit Campus Sonwar, Srinagar. The department intends to nurture the aspiring students to pursue their carrier in higher education leading to the basic research programs for the development of society.

Department of Biotechnology, School of Life Sciences, was established in the year 2015 & has been offering 5-year Integrated B.Sc.-M.Sc. (Biotechnology) program on semester system pattern. The students are admitted to this course through Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) after their 10+2 qualification, with an aim to expose the young & bright minds to the research-based learning involving the knowledge of advanced levels.
Department of Animal Science
With the mission to provide our stakeholders with intellectual depth and tools required for self-sustained learning while emphasizing knowledge related to animal sciences, conducting research, and making knowledge available through teaching and extension, the Department of Animal Sciences (Zoology), School of Life Sciences, Central University of Kashmir, started in 2015, to cater mainly Teaching, Research, and Extension. The Department initiated an integrated UG-PG technologically oriented degree program in animal sciences. The department gives great emphasis and cognizance to a dynamic curriculum and outset with 5-year Integrated B. Sc.-M. Sc. program in Zoology. There are 10 semesters during the 5-year program with a student-friendly exit policy with B. Sc. Degree after 3 years (6 semesters). A student opting for exit shall have to pass the examinations prescribed for the course and fulfill the requirements as laid down under the relevant statutes.
Department of Botany
Department of Botany started in 2020 offering Masters's program in Botany with an intake capacity of 20 students. The students are admitted to this course through Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) after their graduation with Botany as one of the subjects.

The Department of Economics, established in 2011, is one of the main constituent departments of the Faculty of Social Sciences. Since its inception, the Department of Economics has been committed to promoting High-Quality Teaching & Economic Research. The Department aims to acquaint students with problems of the economy and enable them to cope with professional competency.

7. School of Languages
Department of English
The Department of English is the first department established in the School of Languages (SOL), Central University of Kashmir. The Department provides an intellectually nourishing and conducive atmosphere to the students aspiring to undertake an in-depth study of English Literature as it offers a variety of courses covering all the major genres of English literature and the fundamentals of English language teaching. The choice-based credit system allows the students to choose from a variety of elective courses that are offered in addition to the core courses. A comprehensive continuous internal assessment system ensures a thorough development of the intellectual capabilities of the students.
The Department also offers an integrated MPhil-PhD research program under which eight scholars are currently pursuing their research in the Department while two scholars have already obtained their Ph.D. research degrees.

The Central University of Kashmir opened the School of Education in 2011 which started functioning from the academic session of June-2012. School of Education offering M.A. Education, B.Ed., M.Ed., Integrated B.Ed.--M.Ed. (3Years), M.P.Ed., M. Phil., Ph.D., and P.G. Diploma in Guidance And Counselling (PGDGC) programs.
Department of Physical Education
The Department of Physical Education, established in 2017, offers an in-depth study into various aspects of Physical Education as well as Sports. Its mission is to achieve academic excellence and gain national and international recognition in education, research as well as sports.
The department has designed and optimized the Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) degree program to prepare post-graduates in the best possible way for their careers- disciplined, specific, locally relevant, and competitive. Master of Physical Education is a two-year semester-based regular course comprised of Theory as well as Practical subjects (Games and Sports).

The Department of Information Technology is a flagship department under the School of Engineering and Technology. Having an up-to-date curriculum, well-trained faculty, and an excellent infrastructure, the Department is committed to developing highly-skilled Information Technology (IT) professionals, capable of meeting the ever-changing and increasing needs of the IT industry.
The Department is presently offering a Ph.D. in CSE, a Two-year Post-Graduate program leading to the degree of M. Tech. in Information Technology in addition to B. Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) which is a 4-year degree program. Striving hard for excellence, the Department plans to diversify and expand its activities in the years to come.
