Programmes Offered

1.BA. LL.B (Hons.)

  • To bridge the gap between legal theory and praxis, an understanding of the social sciences is essential. Law is after all a profession that works in a socio-political context, and therefore for a legal practitioner training in the liberal arts is a prerequisite. National Law University, Orissa offers a five year-integrated B.A.LL.B programme that combines training in law with knowledge of the social sciences.

Eligibility

  • Candidates who have passed 12th class or equivalent examination from the state of Odisha and secured at least 60% marks (or its equivalent grade) in the said examination from any recognized College/University in the state of Odisha.

2. BBA. LL.B (Hons.)

  • The National Law University, Orissa also provides a five-year B.B.A.LL.B conjoint study programme which combines law with undergraduate level business administration. In this course the law subjects are studied in conjunction with business administration subjects such as Principles and Practices of Management, Financial Markets and Institutions, Cost and Management Accounting, Marketing, Corporate Accounting, Organizational Behaviour, Human Resource Management, Managerial Psychology, Ethical Entrepreneurship and Leadership, Financial Reporting and Analysis, Financial Management, Mergers, Acquisitions and Corporate Restructuring.

Eligibility

  • Candidates who have passed 12th class or equivalent examination from the state of Odisha and secured at least 60% marks (or its equivalent grade) in the said examination from any recognized College/University in the state of Odisha.

3. LL.M

  • National Law University Odisha offers one-year LL.M. Degree Programme for students committed to make career in law teaching. The University offers LL.M. (one year) programme with specializations in (i) Corporate Law & Commercial Law (CCL) (ii) Constitutional Law & Administrative Law (CAL). The Course comprises 03 Foundation/Compulsory Papers (three credits each), 06 Optional/Specialization Papers (two credits each) to be notified in each semester and Dissertation (3 credits).

Eligibility

  • Candidates who have passed Undergraduate law programme (B.A.LL.B./B.B.A.LL.B./LL.B.) or equivalent examination and secured at least 50% marks (or its equivalent grade) in the said examination from any recognized College/University in the state of Odisha.

4. Ph.D

Eligibility

  • An applicant seeking admission to Ph.D. programme must have Master’s Degree in Law from any recognised University securing not less than 55% marks or its equivalent in grade; or
  • Degree in Law and a Master’s Degree in Social Science or Humanities, Management Studies or Sciences from any recognised University with not less than 55% marks or its equivalent grade; or
  • Obtained a Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Humanities or Management Studies from any recognised University with 55% marks and have had at least two years of teaching experience or Ph.D. in any discipline.
  • In case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC(non creamy layer) and differently abled candidates a relaxation of 5% marks from 55% to 50% or an equivalent relaxation of grade shall be done.
