It played a pivotal role in providing linkage to allied departments and constituent colleges of the University. The department has an excellent infrastructure of well-equipped laboratories and a research farm. These are well supported by technical and field staff for proper conduction of research as well as farm practicals.

Department of Entomology

The Department of Entomology was established mainly to teach entomology to undergraduate students. Since the inception of the University, it became a separate unit in the Faculty of Agriculture at Pusa Campus of Rajendra Agricultural University with the objective of achieving excellence in teaching entomology to postgraduate students, conducting problem-oriented research on insect pests of agricultural importance, and extending the latest technology development to farmers. Department of Forestry

To increase the forest cover of the region substantially by adopting suitable tree-based systems and commensurate its potential role and functions both in terms of environmental conservation and socio-economic benefits with substantial contribution to the state’s economy, employment, and sustainable livelihood of the farming dependent rural population through scientific, transparent and responsible education.

Department of Microbiology

The department of Microbiology was established in the year 1981 as the first department in the entire state to impart advanced teaching in this area with strong research/development backup. During the past two decades, this department has contributed significantly in the area of microbial diversity and bio fertilization, mushroom biology, and technology through various programs funded by DBT, ICAR, NHB (Govt. of India). The department has a good collection of microbial germplasm – Cyanobacteria, Azospirillum, Azotobacter, Bacillus, Pleurotus, Agaricus, Tricholoma, etc. In recent times, a constant effort for the domestication of mushrooms through training, demonstration, etc. by the department has resulted in livelihood improvement of the poor sections of the society of this state.
