Overview
റ്റാറ്റ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് സോഷ്യൽ സയൻസസ് (TISS) 1936-ൽ സർ ദോറാബ്ജി ടാറ്റ ഗ്രാജുവേറ്റ് സ്കൂൾ ഓഫ് സോഷ്യൽ വർക്ക് എന്ന പേരിൽ സ്ഥാപിതമായി. 1944-ൽ ടാറ്റ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് സോഷ്യൽ സയൻസസ് എന്ന് പുനർനാമകരണം ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടു. 1956 ലെ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ഗ്രാന്റ്സ് കമ്മീഷൻ ആക്ടിന്റെ (UGC) സെക്ഷൻ 3 പ്രകാരം ഒരു യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ആയി പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കപ്പെട്ടു . ഇത് ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ടിന്റെ ചരിത്രത്തിലെ ഒരു പ്രധാനനാഴികക്കല്ലായിരുന്നു.വിജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെവികാസത്തിലൂടെയുംപ്രയോഗത്തിലൂടെയുംമാറിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നസാമൂഹിക യാഥാർത്ഥ്യങ്ങളോട് നിരന്തരം പ്രതികരിക്കുന്ന, ജനകേന്ദ്രീകൃതവും പാരിസ്ഥിതികമായി സുസ്ഥിരവും നീതിയുക്തവുമായ ഒരു സമൂഹത്തെ സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നതിനുവേണ്ടി, ഉന്നതവിദ്യാഭ്യാസരംഗത്ത് മികവ് പുലർത്തുന്ന ഒരു സ്ഥാപനമാണ് ടിഐഎസ്എസ് .

1.Bachelor of Social Work - Tuljapur Campus (Four Years)
Eligibility
- Students should have passed 12th Class or Intermediate in any subject stream from a recognised board. Students who have studied International Baccalaureate Diploma and will be completing 12th class with clear results declared by September 2022 are eligible to apply.
- Candidates who have appeared for their 12th class or Intermediate final exams and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply.
- The upper age limit for General candidates is 20 years, OBC is 22 years and for SC & ST candidates the age limit is 24 years as of 31st July 2022. The upper age limit for Physically Challenged candidates shall be reckoned as per the category he/she belongs to since Physically Challenged Category candidates may belong to General / SC / ST / OBC categories. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board is the only authentic proof that will be accepted.
- CUET Score to be used for shortlisting for stage 2.
- Stage 2 will assess apptitude and motivation for the programme of study

Ph.D Programmes
Eligibility
- Applicants will be shortlisted for the Research Aptitude Test (RAT) if they meet the following criteria with regard to educational qualifications and research proposal.
- Educational Qualifications: The minimum academic qualification for admission to the Ph.D programmes is a Second Class Master’s or equivalent degree in the relevant subject awarded by a recognised university in India or abroad, with at least an average of 55 per cent of aggregate marks, or a grade point average of 3.5 under the seven-point scale of the University Grants Commission (UGC). In the case of SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/differently-abled candidates, the minimum eligibility is an average of 45 per cent of aggregate marks, or a grade point average of 2.50.
- Candidates who have an M.Phil or equivalent degree awarded by a recognized university in India or abroad are also eligible to apply for the Ph.D Programme.
