Introduction

Kerala Merit Scholarship is awarded to students who are on the merit list and pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate courses in any government /aided arts and science college of University or department. The scholarship is granted by the Higher Education Department i.e. Directorate of Collegiate Education, Govt. of Kerala. Only permanent Kerala residential students can apply for this scholarship. 

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • Be a first-year student of undergraduate or postgraduate course in Govt/ Aided colleges or University Departments
  • Be a native of Kerala 
  • Have scored 50% or above in the qualifying examination.
  • Have an annual family income not exceeding INR 1 lakh

Scholarship rewards

The selected students will get the following benefits:

  • INR 1,250 per annum to 300 graduate students 
  • INR 1,500 per annum to 150 postgraduate students 

Application process

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through the following steps 

  • Step 1: Visit the official website and click on the 'Apply Now button below.
  • Step 2: Read the guidelines carefully, select the undertaking, and 'Continue'. 
  • Step 3: Fill in the registration details of matriculation or equivalent examination. 
  • Step 4: A registration id will be generated automatically. 
  • Step 5: Proceed to complete the registration process and submit. (Note: Note down the registration id as well as the password for further reference.)
  • Step 6: Click on 'Candidate Login' to complete the application process.
