Overview
അന്താരാഷ്‌ട്ര നിലവാരത്തിന് തുല്യമായ ഉന്നത വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം നൽകുകയെന്ന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെയാണ് വിഐടി സ്ഥാപിച്ചത്. സ്ഥിരതയാർന്ന അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ ഉന്നതവിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിന്റെ ഗുണനിലവാരം മെച്ചപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിനുള്ള നൂതനമായ രീതികൾ അത് സ്ഥിരമായി തേടുകയും അവലംബിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. ലോകത്തിന്റെ എല്ലാ കോണുകളിൽ നിന്നുമുള്ള വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളുള്ള ഒരു കോസ്‌മോപൊളിറ്റൻ അന്തരീക്ഷമാണ് കാമ്പസിന് ഉള്ളത്. വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളെ പരിപോഷിപ്പിക്കാൻ പരിചയസമ്പന്നരും പഠിച്ച അധ്യാപകരും ശക്തമായി പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. അധ്യാപന-ഗവേഷണ മേഖലയിൽ വിഐടിയിൽ സ്ഥാപിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ആഗോള നിലവാരം, മികവിന്റെ നിരന്തരമായ പരിശ്രമത്തിൽ നമ്മെ പ്രേരിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ഗ്രാന്റ്സ് കമ്മീഷൻ (യുജിസി) ആക്ട്, 1956 ലെ സെക്ഷൻ 3 പ്രകാരം സ്ഥാപിതമായ ഇത്, വെല്ലൂർ എഞ്ചിനീയറിംഗ് കോളേജ് എന്ന പേരിൽ ഒരു സ്വാശ്രയ സ്ഥാപനമായി 1984 ൽ സ്ഥാപിതമായി. കേന്ദ്ര മാനവവിഭവശേഷി വികസന മന്ത്രാലയം 2001-ൽ വെല്ലൂർ എഞ്ചിനീയറിംഗ് കോളേജിന് യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി പദവി നൽകി.
