Introduction
Department of Minority Welfare, Government of Kerala provides scholarships to minority students pursuing courses in Chartered Accountancy (CA)/Cost and Works Accountancy (CWA)/Cost and management accounts (CMA) or Company secretaryship (CS). In order to get the DMW CA/ICWA CMA /CS Scholarship (IWCS), the students must meet the eligibility requirements prescribed by the authorities. Those fulfilling the requirements will be eligible for an allowance of Rs. 15,000 every year. The DMW CA/ICWA CMA /CS Scholarship (IWCS) will be provided to only those students who are in the intermediate, final, or are pursuing the foundation courses.
Eligibility criteria
- The student applying for the scholarship must belong to the following minority groups – Sikhs, Muslims, Buddhists, Christians, Jain, and Parsis. These are considered minority communities under Section 2 (c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992.
- The scholarship is only applicable to students of Kerala.
- Only those students who are pursuing the following courses – Chartered Accountancy (CA)/Cost and Works Accountancy (CWA)/Cost and management accounts (CMA) or Company secretaryship (CS will be eligible to apply for this scholarship.
- Those applying for the scholarship must have obtained a minimum of 60 percent marks in the last examination they appeared in.
- The authorities have also prescribed that the overall annual income should be less than Rs.8 lakh.
- Students belonging to the minority community of Kerala and who come under the BPL (Below Poverty Line) category are given the first preference. Only in the absence of BPL students, the APL (Above Poverty Line) category will get a chance subject to the fact that the annual income is below Rs.8 lakh.
- Also, BPL students will have to submit the ration card as well.
Documents required
- Ration Card (original and xerox copy)
- Certificate of income issued by the village officer
- Domicile certificate (original and xerox copy)
- Community/Minority certificate (original and xerox copy)
- Print out the application form and attested photograph
- Mark sheet copy of class 10th, 12th, and other required educational certificate
- Current course proof such as admission card, tuition fee, ID card, etc
- Copy of Bank’s passbook first page
- Copy of Aadhar Card or NPR card
Application procedure
- 1st Step – Go to the official website – dcescholarship.kerala.gov.in.
- 2nd Step – The official website will appear on the screen.
- 3rd Step – Now, go to the DMW CA/ICWA (CMA)/CS Scholarship (IWCS) link and click on apply online.
- 4th Step – Students will have to register by entering the required details.
- 5th Step – Further, they will have to log in by using the user ID and password.
- 6th Step – Now, fill in all the required information such as – personal information, educational details, and bank account information.
- 7th Step – Students have to upload all the prescribed documents – photograph, signature, college certificates, etc.
- 8th Step – After completing the form, submit the scholarship application form.
- 9th Step – Also, take the printout of the registration form for future reference.
Scholarship rewards
- Rs. 15,000 per year to the students who are in the final course.
- For an intermediate course, Rs. 15,000 per annum will be provided to all the scholars.
- For the students in the foundation course, the scholarship allowance will be Rs. 15,000 per year.
