ഇന്ത്യൻ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് ഇൻഫർമേഷൻ ടെക്നോളജി, ഡിസൈൻ & മാനുഫാക്ചറിംഗ്, കുർണൂൽ (IIITDMK) 2014-ൽ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് ഇൻഫർമേഷൻ ടെക്നോളജി ആക്ടിന് ഇന്ത്യൻ രാഷ്ട്രപതിയുടെ അനുമതി ലഭിച്ചതിന് ശേഷം സ്ഥാപിതമായി .
ഗവേഷണത്തിനും മറ്റ് വിദ്യാർത്ഥി പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾക്കും ആവശ്യമായ സമാധാനപരമായ മാനസികാവസ്ഥ പരിപോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിന് അനുയോജ്യമായ അന്തരീക്ഷം ഈ സ്ഥലം പ്രദാനം ചെയ്യുന്നു. IIITDM കുർണൂലിന് പൂർണമായും ധനസഹായം നൽകുന്നത് വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ മന്ത്രാലയമാണ്.
