Course Introduction:
എഞ്ചിനീയറിംഗിലെ ഒരു ബിരുദ കോഴ്സാണ് പോളിമർ എഞ്ചിനീയറിംഗ്‌. പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക്,സിന്തറ്റിക് നാരുകൾ, റബ്ബറുകൾ എന്നിവ പോലുള്ള പോളിമറുകളിൽ നിന്ന് വ്യത്യസ്ത തരം ഘടനകളും ഉൽപ്പന്നങ്ങളും നിർമ്മിക്കുന്നത് പോളിമർ എഞ്ചിനീയറിംഗ്‌ ബിരുദധാരികളാണ്. പോളിമർ ഉൽപ്പന്നങ്ങളുടെ ഉപയോഗം അതിവേഗം വർദ്ധിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നതിനാൽ ഇന്നത്തെ ലോകത്ത് ഇത്തരക്കാരുടെ ആവശ്യം വളരെ കൂടുതലാണ്. മുകളിൽ പറഞ്ഞ തരം ഉൽപ്പന്നങ്ങൾ വികസിപ്പിക്കുമ്പോൾ പോളിമർ എഞ്ചിനീയറിംഗ്‌ ബിരുദധാരികൾ ഈ ഉൽപ്പന്നങ്ങൾ പരിസ്ഥിതി സൗഹൃദവും പുനരുപയോഗം ചെയ്യാവുന്നതുമാണെന്ന് ഓർമ്മിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്, കൂടാതെ പോളിമറുകളുടെ ശരിയായ മാനേജ്മെൻ്റും നടത്തണം. പ്ലാൻ്റ് ഡിസൈൻ, പ്രോസസ് ഡിസൈൻ, പോളിമറിന്റെ തെർമോഡൈനാമിക്സ് എന്നിവയെ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കി ഉൽപ്പന്നം അന്തിമ ഉപയോക്താവിന് എങ്ങനെ എത്തിക്കും എന്നതിനെ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കി അവർ പുതിയ ഉൽപ്പന്നങ്ങൾ വികസിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. ഇന്ത്യയിലും വിദേശത്തും ധാരാളം വ്യവസായങ്ങൾ ആരംഭിച്ചതിനാൽ, കെമിക്കൽ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ പോളിമർ എഞ്ചിനീയറിംഗ്‌ വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളുടെ ആവശ്യം വളരെയധികം വർദ്ധിച്ചു.
